Gold Specimens

Our Australian reef gold is primarily set in white quartz. This combination of gold and stone produces some superb nugget specimens. Specimens such as these are extremely rare, and not often seen for general sale. Testing has found our gold to be of a varied high purity.

All our nuggets are hand cleaned. Specimens with quartz and ironstone content are soaked in a low-corrosive peroxide treatment then put through a gentle tumble clean.

At RAW we pride ourselves on producing as natural a product as possible. We believe that super refinement of nuggets strips away their organic purity. You may still find raw material in our nuggets, as well as stones set in the gold as it was formed in the beginning. You will also find some of the quartz in our specimens to still be dirt stained.

We leave further cleaning and polishing to the purchaser’s discretion.
